How to inform the public?

Most of us on this forum are aware of biological effects from ELF, RF and other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, but there is great unawareness among the public. I recently had a link to an article on electrosensitivity rejected by a "bold, daring progressive news" blog with the following anonymous message: “Until there is much more evidence that cell phones cause health issues, we are going to pass on articles that claim doom from using cell phones. Brain cancer rates should be skyrocketing now if the connection were real. Many people are skeptical of cell phones, but the science done to date does not support health problems from cell phone usage, other than crashing cars due to lack of attention to the road.” Any ideas on how to politely counteract this kind of attitude? I have had some success by opening my big mouth, letting people scoff without getting angry or judging them, but keeping my references handy. I believe I have had some success that way, but would love to hear others' ideas. There was no way to respond directly to the hostile message, but I contacted the editor and got his approval to write my own article for the blog.

World Health Organization

Dr. Oz

CNN

All did releases on this potential health effect over the past month.  There approach was "weak" research said there wasn't a problem, while "strong" research said there was.  The also stated that most often the "weak" research was funded by the telecommunications industry.

I think it may be best to start with moms groups and local colleges/universities to help spread the word.  I recently did a talk about children & cell phones: what are the risks, and people thanked me for giving information they never even though about.  There are numerous sites that you can refer one to for more info.  Maybe we can work together...where do you live?  You can contact me at emfsolutions4u@aol.com.  Good luck!  Anissa

Since I first came down with EHS about 24 months ago, I set out to inform myself which I have done and I have tried to inform others, but the level of denial, fanatism and addiction people are suffering from causes them to fear me and then at times to ignore or even persecute and vilify me.

Aside from Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland who was the head of the WHO in 2002 and literally forebade people from coming into her office with a cell phone because she got sick from them up to 4 feet away, I am the strangest human anomaly I've encountered to date.  I have felt cell phone radiation for up to 75 feet away and the closer I am in proximity to a phone and depending on the SAR of the phone and the distance of the tower and also the amount of general emf is in the environment, these factors will determine the extent of my symptoms.

I get angry when people negligently spit their microwave poison at me and I wonder how many people like me there are, if any others.  It's a very lonely place to be right now.  You never get used to drowning in microwave radiation. You can only try to accept and adjust to the newness of it all.  I believe that a combination of my cell phone (which was the highest SAR on the market at 1.6w/kg, the FCC maximum) moving into a highly irradiated city (Newark NJ) and living in a WIFI environment for the first time is what caused me to feel other people's cell phones.  It truly is a constant intrusion and if more people come down with it I wouldn't be surprised if a little bit of hell becomes life on earth in the future.

It may sound alarmist, but I'm living it and I see that it is equally hellish for people that have become microwave poisoned.  For GP, it has been suggested that "dirty electricity"  produces a by-product of microwave radiation that travels through the wiring in our walls and alongside the cords of the appliances.

EHS can be a living nightmare.  I work in a hospital and healthcare is a joke.  I work on the neurology unit and I ask myself everyday, why are cell phones and wifi allowed in a hospital environment? It is the most ridiculously absurd scenario I've encountered.  It's probably analogous to cigarette smoking being allowed on a pulmonary or cardiac unit.  Human imperfection knows no bounds.

This past year I noticed what looks like the beginning of a major die-off of trees in our area and the grey squirrels seem to only come out in the winter these days.  I wonder if it's becuase of the microwave radiation pollution.  I wonder if I'll ever find the truth.

After being mocked or vilified, I will brush myself off and reach out to another because of the one who will listen or the one who is also suffering.  I hope to be a life raft for those suffering from their own poor choices in the future. Choices like sleeping with the phones, being in the room while the phones are charging or listening to music with the phone (basically spewing poisonous radiation in the environment for the sake of pleasure)  How low have we fallen?  It's worldwide... fortunately, nothing kills everyone.  I hope we wake up sooner than the general population did with the ills of smoking.  And remember for those who smoke, nothing's going to curtail their cell phone choices because they are already pretty wreckless with their own health.  Thank you.

I've witnessed in the past few years an increase of trees dying as well. I've often wondered if there is any correlation between EMF and trees dying.

In response to the original post, I don't think you or anyone is going to have much luck convincing people in an attempt to show them the proof. They have made up their mind that it's a scam. I think we need to not be so concerned about convincing people one on one in heated battles but sharing this information with those in our circle of influence (friends, family, co-workers, etc.) because you have the highest repore and credibility with those people. You have to understand that we are approaching that tipping point that Dr. Mercola, Bruce Lipton, Kevin Trudeau and I'm sure many others are talking about where as more and more people become concious of this danger, even without direct influence to an individual face to face, we are raising the entire conciousness of the world's population on this subject. I'm sure you've heard of the 100th monkey story talked about by the same three men I mentioned a moment ago. We are in this same situation with EMF dangers. The more we think positive thoughts about spreading the information on the dangers of EMF's the higher the level of impact we'll have at an energetic level. If you would like more information about this way of thinking, please visit:

www.globalinformationnetwork.com

and listen to the audio on the main page. This organization has revolutionized my way of thinking and this could be something that will help you in your mission to influence people with this information about EMF dangers. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions about it that you may have.

Oh no! I just wrote a nice long reply and lost it hunting for tags. The "100th monkey phenomenon" is real. I have been using EFT to address the discouragement I feel, and I see how it may be used not only to enhance one's own positivity and potential impact, but also to reach out to humanity by another route. Thank you for bringing this up! I want to thank everyone who responded to my query. The EHS feel a sense of urgency. I've seen much anger among them, and I've seen them reach out successfully by using this anger, but I have also seen them turn off people who may otherwise have been valuable friends. I was very lucky to meet Dr. Neil Cherry a year or two before his death. Arthur Firstenberg told me that he was very sick, really too sick to be going to the high-EMF environment of Tokyo. But he went, and I saw him (and a few other notable people) convince a roomful of journalists that this issue was real. Unfortunately, the advertisers vetoed it... Those journalists will remember this, though, and I found a valuable example and great inspiration for continuing the struggle. I've also heard it said that someone trying to build something new has the advantage over those trying to prevent it. This is where we stand now (and is why I focus on working toward broader knowledge of a problem rather than trying to stop any particular project). Those standing in our way are growing more desperate as they lose ground. The prospect of sunrise makes the darkest night worthwhile.

Hi Pamela, yes exactly, great post.

The impression I get from those who use cell phones is that they are controlled like a robot by the radio frequencies. It's like something out of a sci-fi movie: "Invasion Of The Phone Drones" (I just made that up) but these people addicted to their cell phones behave like drones. They drift along with one hand clutched to their ear holding their precious phone (akin to an umbilical cord) and the other hand on the steering wheel, drifting along, completely unaware of who is behind them, what is beside them. Their conversation, no matter how trivial, is far more important than consideration for others on the road. Cell phones have created a new form of narcissism. It's all about them and their gratification while consideration for others is trivial.

I do not own a cell phone, not anymore. I  have also been vilified and condemned as "weird" and "out there" because of it, even by my own family and friends, and in the peak of my EMF illness.

I will continue to educate those who bring up the subject; however, I will not proselytize to them by bringing up the subject, because if they are not ready to hear the truth, imposing it on them turns people away from truth even more (like with religion.) Nonetheless, I will continue to use my plug-in desktop computer and use Skype as my only phone.

Hello Pat. I believe the best solution to your question is right in front of you. That's the advantage of the Internet; any of us can publish information and have access to a wide audience.

I would start with something as simple as a website with credible news items about the dangers of emf to the human body. There have actually been many studies over the decades.

As an entire new industry has spawned with an interest in this technology, the public will become less informed on the matter. This is because the industry desires to control the flow of information which could be damaging.

Furthermore, there are uses of emf technology which are beyond the current realization of most people. These are the most dangerous of all, and will be even harder for the general population to believe when the time comes (and it is coming quickly).

So just make a website. Post credible news items & studies. Promote it. Use video. You could make a tremendous difference by yourself.

To KVC, thank you for your suggestion. Actually, there are so many good websites on EMFs and EHS that I just direct people to those, and I have also contributed articles to them. The Internet has many advantages, but also disadvantages. The big advantage is that we are free for the time to share information that otherwise would never make it to the public. On the other hand, people become more compartmentalized, focusing exclusively on sources and types of information that they like, and shutting out the rest. It is great that we are not all being fed the same junk the way we were when everyone was watching the same three or four channels on TV. We now have broader knowledge that we can apply. I keep a notebook full of information on health that I am reading, and have used it to help several friends improve their health. Without the Net, I wouldn't have even half of that information available. The disadvantages of the Net include serious difficulty in determining what information is real and what is disinformation. Who is the real source? Who is "Pat Ormsby" really? On the Net, people sometimes presume what I am saying is part of some sort of money-making scheme. I don't think I would get anyone beyond the EHS community to take me seriously. I make much more tangible progress talking to people face-to-face. An even bigger disadvantage of the Net, especially from our point of view on this forum, is that it is THE driving force in the wireless build-out. Therefore I would like to use it minimally and effectively, and I think it is best done by reaching out through existing sites. I agree video would be a good tool, if kept brief.
